Peter is a Dutch freelance photographer, best known for his black & white photography. Having originally been trained in black and white film photography, he tries to emulate the same aesthetic even though now mostly working digitally. He looks for the different in the ordinary by using the power of the still image to tell a story or capture a mood or moment in time. If asked to give only one reason why to shoot in B&W, his answer would be perception. Black and white images appear to be more timeless than color images. Removing color from a picture helps to focus on a subject’s emotional state. Color records the image, black and white captures the feelings that lie beneath the surface.
